Only eligible for those pursuing the Diploma in Data Science. You must be enrolled in or have completed the regular BDM course.
You’ll receive an authorization letter from IITM to approach businesses and request data. You then analyze that data using techniques from the BDM course (R, Python, etc.) to solve a real-world business problem.
Submit a 4–5 page plan. Include:
- Executive Summary & Title
- Organization Background
- 3+ Problem Statements
- Internal & External Problem Context
- Problem Solving Approach
- Timeline & Tools
Submit between the 1st and 5th. Mention tools (R, Python) clearly!
Submit an 8–10 page report with:
- Proof of data originality
- Video interaction with business owner
- Metadata & Descriptive Stats
- Early findings & process
Submit from the 5th–10th. Add field pictures, links, and notes.
18–20 page full report covering:
- Complete analysis flow
- Charts (pie, bar, etc.) with legends
- Recommendations & Outcomes
Submit between the 11th and 15th. Focus on insights & readability!
Create a 10-slide presentation. Include:
- Business Summary
- Process and Methods
- Key Findings
Viva starts on the 25th each month. Book your slot in advance!
- Never forget to add your roll number on every file
- Follow font & size guidelines strictly
- Avoid plagiarism—use AI only as a helper
- Don’t use Kaggle/GitHub data — get real business data
- Page numbers and proper formatting matter a lot
The hardest part? Finding a business willing to share data. Once done, you're halfway through!
